I know that web-based bookmark sites allow you to save your bookmarks to that site and access them from any computer anywhere.
I want to find a web-based bookmark site that allows me to put my bookmarks into organized files like linkagogo, but that I can also pin to my toolbar like delicious.
I have learned how to create bookmarks on delicious and how to create bookmark bundles that contain individual bookmarks but not other bundles.
In delicious, can I have tag bundles within tag bundles. For example, can I put a "Technology Tools" bundle, a "Lesson Plans" bundle, and an "Other Resources" bundle under or within an "EDUCATION" tag bundle?
I have learned how to become fans of other delicious members and put them into my network.
Are there other sites that have this feature as well? I like delicious, but I just can't get it to organize my favorites the way I want/need.
Blogging is similar to emailing back and forth, but the conversation is posted on website for everyone to see.
I'm still not sure how to post an image or a video into a blog.
I have now learned how to post and an image into a blog and forum for students to discuss. Check out my ning now
Now I'd like to know how to insert a video on my wiki page.
Social Networking is a
tool for people to use online to blog about specific topics as well as share pictures and videos.
I would like to learn the best practices of how to use social networking in class.
I think I have come up with some very creative ways to use Web 2.0 tools.
I know there are a variety of sites available for social networking such as ning, facebook, myspace, moodle, etc.
I would like to compare and contrast a variety of social networking sites to find out which will best fit my needs.
I have not had too much time to do in depth comparing, but I feel like now I have a lot more understanding of social networking sites and much more background knowledge to help me when I do have more time to really spend comparing and contrasting what will best fit my needs.
Here is an Xtranormal video I created to sort of recreate a scene from Chapter 2 of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
What do you see yourself using for an implementation plan? What questions do you still have?
I plan to use ning or a similar site to get my students blogging about what they've read along with creating and posting videos and pictures that relate to what they've read. I am still having trouble figuring out how to get it to be completely user friendly and organized the way I need it. I will have to play around with it tonight. I am a fast learner, and I think that looking at other people's ning's will help me learn different techniques and strategies so that I can adapt my ning to fit my specific needs. I would also still like to see how much management is involved. Do I want everyone to be in one big group, or do I want to divide students into their separate classes? Is there a way that I can integrate this site to accommodate both my lit and comp classes? I could see integration being especially helpful so some students could use it as a way to do one assignment for two classes somehow.
6/16/09 AM -- I have now got a good start on my ning. I even made a cute Xtranormal video as an example assignment for my lit class based on chapter 2 in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Check out my Lit Ning at
6/16/09 PM I am very pleased with how far my ning page has come. I feel that it is just about complete. Now, all I have to do is write up the lesson implementation. The only problem I seem to be having is too many ideas. I also may want to consider setting this up through 21classes instead of ning, but since I started with ning, I'm sticking with it for now. I am also concerned with finding time to get students into labs for these activities, or maybe I can do stations in my classroom with one station being blogging time, but I only have three computers in my room at this time. Finally, throughout the summer I want to begin looking at ways to still integrate other 7th grade content from other classes into these Web 2.0 activities as well -- not only my own class, composition, but all the 7th grade subject areas. For this class, though, I am happy with just finding and planning creative ways to use these tools in my class.
You have really worked on trying to make his user friendly. I would demonstrate on your smartboard and have learners take turns manipulating the site before you take them to the lab. Great job Teri: )
This is your Sidebar, which you can edit like any other page in your workspace.
This Sidebar appears everywhere on your workspace. Add to it whatever you like -- a navigation section, a link to your favorite web sites, or anything else.
